Equitable Marketing Association
Equitable Marketing Association was born in 1977, the child of SEED, an integrated development organisation which saw the need to market the products of the people it was trying to help. EMA's non-profit marketing objective is to help economically disadvantaged groups involved in the production of handcrafts, (the most significant of which is the Woman's Cooperatives) to earn their own living in a fair and equitable way.
While EMA itself is entirely export-oriented, its field workers help groups to establish their own market contacts within India. EMA provides interest free loans to over 47 producer groups to finance the purchase of raw and packaging materials, transport and wages.
