One Small Step

#8B0035 $20.00

John Butler started out with no plan beyond the life of busking. A decade later he's Australia’s most popular guitarist, a multi-platinum artist and the winner of a handful of ARIA awards. Oxfam Shop is proud to bring you his latest CD, John Butler: One Small Step ... live and solo.

Recorded in Denver, Colorado, last year, for Butler’s own label, Jarrah Records, this is his first solo album other than tapes he made in his old busking days in Fremantle.
He says of the disc, “We do many “instores” while touring around this fine globe and this time we decided to do something a little different. The idea was to capture a selection of songs, not as a band but solo and if we were lucky maybe have a live album at the end of it. So this is the first solo album i’ve released...well other than my old busking tape. It’s live, warts n’all but it’s a moment in time I enjoyed and am proud to share with ya’ll. It’s also a great pleasure to be collaborating with Oxfam and many other NGOs to continue to bring attention to the CLOSE THE GAP campaign. Check it out and get involved.
peace, JB”

Recorded live at Twist & Shout Records, June 29th 2007.
John Butler: Vocals, Acoustic/Amplified 11 String Guitar, Banjo, Weissenborn Lapsteel, Harmonica.

Treat Yo Mama

The cost of the CD is $20 and for every CD sold, $1 will be donated to the Oxfam ‘CLOSE THE GAP’ campaign. CLOSE THE GAP is seeking greater equality for indigenous health. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people die on average 17 years younger than other Australians. While indigenous communities are taking action to improve the health of their people through successful self-help programs, these programs could be extended to other communities with adequate government funding and long-term commitment.
