Blushing Angel Candle Holder

Marginalised women and their families in Guatemala City benefit from the initiatives of Upavim, the source of this terracotta candleholder in the form of a sweet little angel. She carries a holder for a 1cm diameter candle on her back. Upavim terracotta figures are made in the mountain village of Chenautla with clay dug from the local riverbed. Each piece is fashioned by hand, then dried in the sun, painted with red clay slip, polished and fired with a pine bark fire.10x6.5cm.
