The books (and stories) are themed very loosely on the four elements and have Oxfam aferwords highlighting different aspects of the work of Oxfam: EARTH (from land rights to farming), FIRE (campaigning for arms control) , AIR (combating climate change) and WATER (safe water and sanitation).
This project has been delivered in partnership with Profile Books and Hay Festival in the UK, together with 38 British and Irish based writers, each of whom have generously donated their time and words for free for Oxfam. Part proceeds of the book sold in Oxfam shops in Australia go to Oxfam’s work fighting poverty and suffering around the world. So customers purchasing can enjoy reading and fighting poverty too.
