Thank goodness for the commitment of Australian Winemakers to produce innovative wines for people to drink – generous aromas of passionfruit and tropical fruits complement the lemon-lime citrus crispness of the taste. Great for spicy chicken dishes and stir fries.
Zontes Footsteps 2007 Verdelho - Langhorne Creek
Some areas are renowned for particular varieties and Langhorne Creek is certainly becoming a home for Verdelho. This one is such a crisp yet fruity drop – wonderfully balanced acid that’ll see it hold well with spicey food or lively conversation with friends.
Windowrie 2007 ‘The Mill’ Chardonnay – Central Ranges
This is a wine even the ABCs (anything but chardonnay) will enjoy. A real food wine, its savoury orientation and mineral, slate finish sits it as a great partner to salmon, poached fish or runny white cheese with nuts and dried fruit.
Primo 2008 ‘La Biondina’ Colombard Sauvignon Blanc - Adelaide
Fresh as…where do you start describing a classic. The 2008 simply delivers to us what we have come to expect from this cult wine. Very drinkable (year in year out), this wine is simply delicious – ice cold, with or without food.
