The balance between the two grapes sits just right as you taste dark cherries and blood plums. A rewarding wine that sits with food – from lighter to full meat dishes.
Clayton Road 2007 Shiraz – McLaren Vale
This is a super premium Shiraz. It demonstrates what top notch Australian wine is about – with moody sultry aromas of vanilla and mocha. Complex and full in flavour without being over the top: Wonderful now or for 8 - 10 years.
Thorn Clarke 2007 Sandpiper Merlot – Barossa Valley
Dark and inviting red in colour, it’s a Merlot to match to a good platter of mixed cheeses. Those smokey dulcet tones of violets matched with cassis and milk chocolate in the mouth.
Vinrock 2007 Grenache – McLaren Vale
The 3rd wine from the McLaren Vale region that rounds out a top demonstration of the reds crafted here. An elegant looking colour with a nose of kiwifruit and custard apples. It is velvety smooth with bigger tastes than you’d expect.
Goes well with: Wood oven roast chicken or quail.
