Paxton Vineyards 2007 Shiraz Grenache – McLaren Vale
Top flight – a nose of chocolate coated vanilla plums just goads you into the right mood.
The balance between the two grapes sits just right as you taste dark cherries and blood plums. A rewarding wine that sits with food – from lighter to full meat dishes.

Vinrock 2007 Grenache – McLaren Vale
The 3rd wine from the McLaren Vale region that rounds out a top demonstration of the reds crafted here. An elegant looking colour with a nose of kiwifruit and custard apples. It is velvety smooth with bigger tastes than you’d expect.
Goes well with: Wood oven roast chicken or quail.

Battle of Bosworth 2008 Chardonnay Viognier – McLaren Vale 100% Certified Organic Wine
Pale to mid colour one sniff tells you it is a serious white wine. Some caramel and almost nutty characteristics. A mouthful of rich butter that doesn’t overwhelm – a hint of sweetness with peach and a datey/almondy finish.
Nice with: Preserved lemon stuffed roast chicken.

Bird in Hand ‘Two in the Bush’ 2008 Chardonnay – Adelaide Hills
Thank goodness for winemakers that still make good chardonnay. A nose of buttery caramel almost cashew like tells you it is a serious top flight wine. Balanced malolactic fermentation and finessed oak.

Golding 2008 The Leap Sauvignon Blanc – Adelaide Hills and New Zealand
This small family winery has taken a great leap and produced a Sauvignon Blanc that sings – with all the best from the majority of Adelaide Hills fruit they have also added all the big notes New Zealand fruit brings – grassy and herbaceous it is a sure hit.
Nice with: Blue cheese brushcetta or risotto.
