This is a story of the ugly duckling turning into a beautiful swan. Inspiration, innovation, and skilled pattern making result in a recycling project that is well worth putting on the road again.
This range of hip and stylish urban accessories is designed and made by an El Salvadorian group that is providing employment for their community, fair living wages, training and job security. They are collecting inner-tubes that would otherwise be stockpiling to be thrown into landfills that pollute the Earth, and fashion them into fabulous tactile accessories.
The inner tube tyre bags are combined with recycled/ reconstituted leather colour accents, soft cotton lining, and quality hardware. Shoulder straps are reinforced with nylon. Each purse has its own distinct markings that come from the factories where the inner tube was manufactured. Clean with damp cloth; for extra shine apply standard tyre cleaner.
