Kalaya - the emu - a somewhat bizarre bird. The female lays the eggs then wanders off leaving the male to incubate them and rear the chicks!!! He has exceedingly strong and sharp claws that he won't hesitate to use in defence. Here, father emu is wandering with his three young.
