Having a secure and strong home enables families who were displaced by the 2007 tsunami in the Solomon Islands to rebuild their lives. With this gift you’ll be providing tools and materials to people in rural areas on Ghizo Island so they can rebuild permanent homes, putting them in a better position to regain a livelihood, provide for their families and enjoy community life.

With this gift you’ll be providing tools and materials to people in rural areas on Ghizo Island so they can build permanent homes, putting them in a better position to regain a livelihood, provide for their families and enjoy community life. “When the tsunami and earthquake came, I was fishing and I felt the sea move. I was inside my canoe and I looked out and the sea was dry - I could see the coral. The tsunami came, and just kept coming until it covered my whole village. When the water came, my house - it washed away and my family went up the hill the same day. The whole community went up into the bush. I am happy now though, because now I have a home.
