Spice trivets are filled with a medley of rice, allspice kernels, whole cloves and pieces of cinnamon. When a hot pot or teapot is placed onto these trivets, the warm aroma of the spice blend is released.
These home and kitchen textiles are made from recycled cortes, which were previously the skirts and colourful tops of the Highland Maya women, Guatemala. The fabric features embroidered flowers, birds and geometric designs which are truly dazzling and full of meaning and stories. The cortes are village specific and the Sacatepequez fabric range hails from the villages of Sacatepequez (indigo blue) and Totonicapan (colourful).
