The Fairtrade Everyday Cookbook
The Fairtrade Foundation in the UK wanted to provide a recipe book that gave people lots of ideas for cooking with Fairtrade ingredients. They held a nationwide competition and here are over 100 of the best, selected by a panel of judges chaired by Sophie Grigson.
Well known supporters of the Fairtrade vision have also donated their recipes: chefs Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Antony Worrall Thompson, sportsman Sir Steve Redgrave, novelist Joanne Harris, and newsreader George Alagiah.
Fairtrade producers from Africa, India and the Caribbean have provided favourite family recipes too, using the ingredients they produce – recipes such as Malawian Peanut Futali, Indian Basmati Rice, Cuban Orange Chicken, and Caribbean Green Banana Curry.
The recipes show how easy it is to use Fairtrade ingredients in everyday family cooking. You will find simple but delicious ideas for light lunches, dinners with your family and friends and gorgeous puddings. If you care about where your food comes from and want to support Fairtrade farmers and workers, this is the cookbook for you.
